Theatrical Storyteller

Michelle Cornell began working in the field of educational theatre after she completed her MFA degree in directing at the Ohio University School of Theatre. She performed with the Columbus Children’s Theatre trooping company for a year then continued her work in New York City and in upstate New York. Michelle taught drama and theatre in the New York public schools through residency programs organized by the Henry Street Settlement, The Open Eye: New Stagings Theatre and the Depot Theatre of Wesport, New York.

She continued to develop her teaching skills by returning to graduate school and received a Masters degree in Education from SUNY Plattsburgh. Michelle came home to Ohio in 1997, and she currently teaches theatre and drama with the Arts Castle of Delaware, Ohio, The Columbus Children’s Theatre, Abbey Theatre of Dublin and the Mad River Theater Works of West Liberty Ohio. She is a professional story teller and presents folktale programs in public schools throughout the state.
